Major Wind Power Turbines Suppliers – Part 1
I know that many companies are trying to invest in renewable energy sources. One of the most used and already established clean energy source is the wind.
Currently I live in Bulgaria and it is vary hard to find suppliers of wind turbines with reasonable terms of delivery. In this post I will list two of the major manufacturers of wind power generation equipment and describe in brief their main products and services.
1. General Electric – no doubt they are the leader in providing Wind Power Turbines:
GE is one of the world’s leading wind turbine suppliers. With over 8,400 worldwide wind turbine installations comprising more than 11,300 MW of capacity, our knowledge and expertise spans more than two decades.
With wind manufacturing and assembly facilities in Germany, Spain, China, Canada and the United States, our current product portfolio includes wind turbines with rated capacities ranging from 1.5 to 3.6 megawatts and support services ranging from development assistance to operation and maintenance.
GE Main Products (concerning wind energy) include:
1.5 MW Series Wind Turbine
With more than 5,000 units in operation worldwide, GE’s 1.5 MW turbine continues to be one of the world’s most widely used wind turbines in its class.

2. The Second company I will talk about is Vestas (Denmark), the world’s largest manufacturer of wind turbines. The one major thing that differs Vestas from General Electric is that their main business is all around wind power turbines production and services.:
Vestas has installed over 35,000 wind turbines worldwide
Vestas offers more than 25 years of global experience and local expertise on modern energy. Vestas can assist with:
- Dimensioning your wind power project
- Selecting wind turbine type
- Installing the wind farm
- Commissioning and monitoring the wind farm
- Servicing and maintenance throughout the lifetime of the wind turbine
Vestas has an extensive portfolio of turbines which are each suited to specific conditions and requirements. Click the category you want to learn more about:
So this was a review of two of the major wind turbines manufacturers. I believe it is useful for you.
