Photovoltaics - Advantages Of The Vacuum Tubes Collectors Over the Flat Plate Collectors

Because of cylinder form of the vacuum tube, the sun rays falls perpendicular during most of the day. The flat plate collectors are positioned perpendicular only at noon. And from that during the rest of the sunshine most of the sun rays are reflected into the atmosphere

· As the name speaks for itself, the air is pump out from the vacuum tube. The vacuum is the best insulator, which helps to avoid any heat losses from the inside of the tubes to the environment. As a result, the vacuum tubes collectors work with the same effectiveness not only during the summer, but also during the winter and in low temperature weather. Because of big waste of collector modules the flat plate collectors function 4-5 months, the vacuum tubes collectors on the other hand are designed to work during the whole year

· The vacuum tubes collectors work even when the temperatures are below zero without breaking up. The flat plate collectors often need expensive and complex integral systems to overcome this problem. The vacuum tubes are strong, long-lasting and if some is broken, the replacement is not expensive and difficult.

· Thanks to the high effective absorption of the solar radiation even when it is cloudy, the vacuum tubes collectors will warm up the water during the whole year. The excellent insulation characteristics of the vacuum tubes help for the purpose. In rainy or cloudy weather additional utilitaire is required

· Less collector area at the vacuum tubes collectors supply the same thermal characteristics as by the flat plate collectors.

· Better absorption of the sun radiation.
