Trends I’ve Followed that Will Affect 2009: Debate on Global Warming/Causes will continue as scientists move back and forth between camps–Resulting in stiff arguments on both sides for/against "carbon-taxation"/economic challenges. Recycling markets are WAY DOWN in our region due to economy, making our city lose money on recyclables collected and the fuel expended to do so. Fuel costs will be questionable due to market adjustments, and all that implies for manufacturing/shipping/petrochemicals/energy efficient living. Health concerns will drive more responsible products in food and housing. Green Washing will continue to confuse consumers into what is and is not sustainable/healthy. Expectation of more lawsuits in/between/concerning "green" industries/municipal codes/products/etc.
