Suzlon Energy Has Secured 132 MW Order with Australia’s AGL Energy
AGL places large EPC repeat order
Turnkey contract for the AGL Hallett IV wind farm for 63 x S88 – 2.1 MW turbines
Pune: Suzlon Energy Limited – the world’s fifth largest wind turbine maker with
10.5% of global market share* announced today the entering of an agreement
between AGL Energy Limited and the company’s Australian operations arm –
Suzlon Energy Australia Pty Ltd.
The contract calls for the turnkey delivery of the Hallett IV Wind Farm, in the North
Brown Hill ranges near Hallett in mid north South Australia, which includes the
engineering, procurement and construction of the entire wind farm that will
comprise 63 units of Suzlon’s S88 – 2.1 MW wind turbine generators (WTGs),
translating to 132.30 MW of capacity. A separate contract has also been signed for
the Service and Maintenance of the wind farm for an initial 5 year term.

This third AGL Engineer Procure and Construct Contract awarded to Suzlon will
result in a total of 142 units of S88 – 2.1 MW WTGs installed under EPC contracts
by Suzlon on AGL wind farms. Previous contracts were for the turnkey
delivery of the now fully operational 94.5 MW Hallett Stage-1 wind farm with all 45
WTGs meeting operating expectations, and the 71.4 MW Hallett Stage-2 wind farm
currently under construction, both in South Australia. AGL has options for Suzlon to
construct two further wind farms, which if both committed will entitle AGL to a volume
discount.
