G&N machines for the solar market contribute to the high-class improvement of mono- and multi crystalline silicon work pieces (ingots) considerably – thus saving costs. Through grinding the ingots the subsurface damages at the exterior surfaces of the solar cells will be minimized up to eliminated. Moreover, the high surface quality of the ingot reduces the breakage rate of the sawed solar cells. Due to our Ductile polish grind process the wafer breakage rate could be more than halved since 1986.
