Hamburg/ Paris, 22 February 2010. REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) and the French company Akuo Energy SAS have signed three agreements for the delivery of 25 wind turbines. The REpower MM92 turbines, each with a hub height of 100 meters and 2.05 megawatts (MW) of rated power are destined for the three wind farms Fontaine Macon, Sevigny Waleppe and Saint-Germainmont in the Champagne-Ardennes region, in the Northeast of France. Together, the turbines achieve a total generating capacity of 51.25 MW.
From as early as June 2010 on, the first six turbines for the wind farm Fontaine Macon in the Département of Aube are to be delivered and then commissioned in August of the same year. For 2011, the contracts envisage the supply of nine REpower MM92 for the wind farm Sevigny Waleppe as well as ten further turbines for the project Saint-Germainmont. Both wind farms are located in the Ardennes Département; the construction works for both are scheduled for the second quarter of 2011.
The projects will be executed by the French subsidiary REpower S.A.S. The company is responsible for delivery, commissioning and service of the turbines. Per Hornung Pedersen, CEO of REpower Systems AG, comments on the closing of the contracts: “We have already set up several wind farms in the Champagne-Ardennes region and are pleased to work with Akuo for the first time. We are confident that this will be the first step towards a global partnership.”
Akuo Energy SAS develops, operates and invests in renewable energy projects across the world; among these, wind and solar plants are the main focus of the Group. Akuo will build around 500 MW in 2010. Eric Scotto, CEO of Akuo Energy, comments on the partnership: ”We are delighted to be back on the French wind market with such a reputable partner.”
REpower’s subsidiary REpower S.A.S., headquartered in Paris, is operating on the French market since the end of 2001 and has installed some 850 MW in France since then.
