SOLON Velocity – Quick and Cost-effective Way to Build Large-scale High-yield Power plants
The Berlin-based solar technology manufacturer SOLON is bringing to market a new type of power plant system solution that significantly shortens planning and construction phases. SOLON Velocity is a system for constructing power plants using pre-configured standardized components. All components are designed to work perfectly with each other and are extensively tested with the end result of expediting the planning, approval and construction process and lowering operating and maintenance costs. This system solution, which is already available in the USA, will be presented to the European market by SOLON at the 25th European Photovoltaics Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Valencia on September 6-10. SOLON will be present on Level 3, Hall 1, Stand B 6.
Up until now, power plants have always been designed individually from the drawing board. SOLON Velocity is an innovative system for designing power plants based on clusters. The individual components of this system have been extensively tested to ensure interoperability, which means that the complicated process of adapting them to each other is no longer necessary. SOLON Velocity consists of infinitely scalable one-megawatt clusters. The clusters offer the required flexibility during construction while saving time and costs. At the same time, SOLON Velocity makes the planning process much more reliable. This standardized method of construction lowers maintenance requirements and increases performance, which in turn raises the profitability of the power plant. Yield performance can be precisely calculated over periods spanning decades.
A cluster of SOLON Velocity consists of an assembly system for fixed mounting or single-axis tracking, equipped with SOLON solar modules, inverters, cabling and the SOLON SCADA remote control and monitoring tool. This tool allows the user to access up-to-date performance data on the power plant and maximize yields from any Internet-enabled PC. SOLON offers an individual service package for business and technical management ranging from maintenance and inspection to actual repairs. SOLON Velocity is now available worldwide.
