Gamesa To Establish Offshore Wind Technology Centre in Scotland

  • Proposals unveiled for technology centre in Glasgow, creating 130 jobs
  • Scottish authorities have been informed of the company’s interest in developing an industrial base for manufacturing, logistics and operation and maintenance (O&M) activities in the Dundee area, conditional upon development of offshore wind projects in the area, securing government support and the availability of sites for prototypes
  • Gamesa’s offshore wind plan for Scotland represents a potential investment of 50 million euro and could create 300 direct jobs
  • Gamesa is developing two offshore platforms, 5MW and 6-7MW, to participate in planned offshore wind power development in the North Sea in the coming years
