Conergy PowerPlus modules with additional seal of quality "PV+TEST"

Independent module test awards the premium module with "good+" rating

  • In the TÜV test: 8 quality modules, including 7 models from European manufacturers
  • Efficient: Conergy PowerPlus best in class for efficiency and temperature behavior
  • Convincing: Steadfast in the load test, tops for warranty and installation

The Conergy PowerPlus module now has another recognition to add to its numerous awards for quality: During the independent module test of TÜV Rhineland and Solarpraxis AG, the Conergy premium module was awarded the "PV+Test" seal of quality and received an overall rating of "good+". Its performance parameters were particularly convincing: The Conergy PowerPlus module was captivating among the eight tested quality modules – seven of which are from renowned European manufacturers – with the highest efficiency rate and a proven increased output of 2% compared to the promised yield. The module is also best in its class for temperature behavior under real operating and outside temperatures. Here, the Conergy module boasted the lowest power loss by far with rising temperatures and solar irradiation. This behavior also greatly influences the total yield of the module.

"Our Conergy PowerPlus modules are all delivered exclusively with a positive power tolerance, such that the customer receives at least the performance for which he paid," explains Helmut Hoebbel, Head of Quality Management in the Conergy module factory in Frankfurt (Oder). "This is far from the case with many manufacturers. The test now shows that we deliver far more than promised. Combined with an outstanding temperature behavior and a high degree of efficiency, our module thus provides the customer with the highest output."

The high-quality workmanship of the Conergy modules also accounts for the comprehensive performance warranties granted by the Hamburg-based solar experts. Conergy was the only company in the test that even guarantees its customers a minimum performance of 92% after 12 years instead of the customary 90% after ten years of module operation. This leads to top marks in the test heading "Guarantee and ease of installation", where the weight of the respective modules as well as their handling, flexibility and ease of installation also count. The Conergy PowerPlus module can thus even be installed lengthwise or horizontally.

In addition, the quality module of the Hamburg-based company – despite the comparably low weight – is convincing thanks to very good values for the mechanical load test, thus once again substantiating its capacity to withstand high wind and snow loads. Overall, the PowerPlus boasts a load capacity of 5,400 Pascal. To illustrate what this means, 11 people can stand on the module at the same time without damaging it. This robust workmanship also leads to the premium module by the Hamburg-based solar company being the first module worldwide to successfully withstand a large hailstone test in December. The Conergy PowerPlus modules even withstand 55-millimeter hailstones, the diameter of a billiard ball, which impact the module at a speed of 122 km/h (75 mph) – as fast as an average small car drives on the highway. The force of the impact is some 23 times stronger than during standard test conditions.

"The load capacity of our Conergy PowerPlus modules, which has already proven and awarded many times, is reflected once again in the results of the PV+Test," says Hoebbel. "Our module can thus be used without any problems even in regions with strong hail, wind or snow without the owner of the solar energy system needing to worry. In doing so, it delivers the highest yields, as the new module test now proves."
