KYOCERA Supplies a Total of 1MW in Solar Modules to 105 Dairy Farms in Northern Japan
Kyocera Corporation (President: Tetsuo Kuba) announced that it has supplied a total of 1.05-megawatts (MW) of solar modules to 105 dairy farms in the Hamanaka-cho Agricultural Cooperative in Hokkaido, Japan. To date this marks the largest order of solar modules for agricultural use in the country.
Approximately 5,000 modules are being supplied in 10kW installations to 105 dairy farms for a total of 1.05MW. Annually, the installations will generate a total of 1,210,000kWh, saving the farmers a total of JPY30 million (approx. USD375,000) on electricity bills, and off-setting about 380 tons of CO2. All installations are planned to be operational by the end of May, and the power generated will be used to operate milking machines and other equipment.
Kyocera holds the top domestic share in Japan for commercial & industrial use solar power generating systems*. The company uses its 35-year experience in the solar industry and engineering technology to create optimized products and services which meet the diverse needs of its customers. For this project in particular, the company was highly evaluated for its ability to complete the 105 separate installations within a short period of time.
