Motech Solar (www.motech.com.tw) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Motech Industries Inc., located in the Tainan Science Industrial Park. The company started its mass production of polycrystalline solar cells at the end of 2000, with an annual production capacity of 3.5 MW. The production increased from 3.5 MW in 2001 to 850 MW in 2010. In 2009, Motech started the construction of a factory in China which should reach its nameplate capacity of 500 MW in 2011. Production capacity at the end of 2010 was given as 1.2 GW (860 MW in Taiwan and 340 MW in
China).
