Gehrlicher Solar Ready With Two Rooftop Solar Installations In Murcia, Spain
In 2011, the Spanish subsidiary of the German photovoltaics company Gehrlicher Solar AG completed rooftop systems totalling 731 kWp.
On Tuesday December 27th, Gehrlicher Solar España connected to the grid its last installations in 2011, a 165.3 kWp rooftop system in Alcantarilla and a 68.8 kWp rooftop installation in Caravaca de la Cruz, both located in the Region of Murcia, Spain.
The Alcantarilla installation, which has been mounted on an industrial rooftop, will produce around 235,500 kWh of power annually. This will allow savings of approximately 83 tons of CO2 every year. The fed-in electric power will be purchased by the energy supplier Iberdrola S.A. under a power purchase agreement for 25 years. The installation in Caravaca de la Cruz has been mounted on the rooftop of industrial premises where textile products are manufactured. 111,345 kWh of power will be produced annually, which will avoid the yearly emission of 34 tons of CO2. The fed-in electric power will be purchased by the energy supplier Iberdrola S.A. under a power purchase agreement for 25 years.
In 2011, Gehrlicher Solar España realized a total of ten projects within its division of low-power rooftop installations. The systems spreading over Alicante and Murcia provinces have a total power capacity of 731 kWp. Fernando Espín, head of RTS department, said: "We are looking back on a successful year 2011. This has been possible due to the exceptional teamwork within the department and our high expertise. We expect the Spanish PV market to further focus on rooftop installations this year, both industrial and residential. Our clients can expect the highest technical quality and an efficient project management."
