ANTARIS SOLAR establishes trading partnerships in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar

ANTARIS SOLAR extends its activities to the Middle East. The German photovoltaics specialist, with headquarters in Bavaria, has now opened trading partnerships in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

"Sun energy instead of oil" – this motto increasingly holds true for the world’s classic "oil countries".  With huge amounts of solar radiation the Middle East is naturally predisposed for the application of photovoltaic (PV) technology.  ANTARIS SOLAR has now entered these promising markets by opening trading posts in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar. At its new locations, the Bavarian PV wholesaler and project developer offers the complete range of PV technology, including ANTARIS SOLAR’s own mono- and polycrystalline module series.

Photovoltaics instead of oil
Despite their rich resources of oil and natural gas – the UAE possess the world’s seventh largest oil deposits – there is a trend among countries of the Arab Peninsula towards renewable energies and sustainable energy production. A perfect example of this trend is Masdar-City. Construction works for the ecological model city that will be entirely based on renewable energies started in Abu Dhabi in 2008.
The growing interest of “oil countries”, such as the UAE and Qatar, in PV and other renewables, underlines the profitability of these eco-friendly forms of energy supply.
“By establishing trading points on the Arab Peninsula ANTARIS SOLAR promotes the deployment of PV-technology in this region and supports the development of a sustainable energy power supply industry“, says ANTARIS SOLAR CEO Dr. Michael Goede.
ANTARIS SOLAR has been constantly expanding its international business activities over the last few years. The first international subsidiaries were established in Switzerland and the Czech Republic. At present ANTARIS SOLAR is running offices in Italy, France, the United Kingdom and the USA. “The opening of trading points in the United Arab Emirates and Qatar will shortly be followed by further international expansion of operations”, says Dr. Michael Goede.
