Saudi Arabia unveils plans to build 41 GW of solar PV and CSP plants
The King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy (K.A.CARE, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia) has issued a white paper outlining its plans to build 41 GW of solar photovoltaic (PV) and concentrating solar power (CSP) projects by 2032. These projects will represent an estimated investment of over USD 60 billion. As a first step, K.A.CARE will hold an introductory round of solicitations for five to seven renewable energy projects with a combined capacity of 500 to 800 MW.

EU ProSun: Tariffs on Chinese solar PV products will increase EU PV industry employment
Trade group EU ProSun has issued a statement in response to the recent report which warns of potential for massive collateral damage from EU tariffs on Chinese solar photovoltaic (PV) products, describing it as "China’s diktat on what is good for Europe". EU ProSun predicts that tariffs will instead increase European PV industry employment, dismissing both the methodology and conclusions of the study by Prognos AG (Basel, Switzerland). It also notes that warnings of job losses in the US solar industry did not come to pass, despite similar claims.
India to install 1.4GW in 2013 despite trade war
India will install another 1.3 to 1.4GW of PV capacity despite its lacklustre 2012, predicts clean energy communications and consulting firm Mercom Capital.Cumulative PV installations to date in India now stand at only 1.2GW due to delays in Gujarat to commission 144.5 MW of PV projects.
